Sunderkand Path

Sunderkand Path (also written Sundarkand Path) is the recitation of the fifth chapter of the Ramcharitmanas and Ramayan. It tells of Hanuman Ji's courageous leap across the ocean, his meeting with Sita Mata in Lanka, the burning of Lanka and his joyful return with news for Shri Ram.

Considered among the most uplifting chapters, it is recited to gain courage, confidence and protection and to overcome fear and obstacles. Families hold it on Tuesdays and Saturdays, on Hanuman Jayanti, at Griha Pravesh, before exams or new ventures, and in times of difficulty. The pandit leads the path along with Hanuman puja, and the family can join in.
