AYURVEDA KE DEVTA
Dhanvantari Havan
Dhanvantari Havan (also called Dhanvantari Homam) is a sacred Vedic fire ceremony offered to Lord Dhanvantari, the divine physician and an avatar of Lord Vishnu. According to scripture, he rose from the Samudra Manthan carrying a pot of amrit, and is honoured as the father of Ayurveda.
Devotees perform this havan to seek good health, quicker recovery and protection from illness. Mantras are chanted while ghee, medicinal herbs and havan samagri are offered to Agni, purifying the home and calming the mind. It is most popular on Dhanteras, during recovery from illness, or at the start of a healthy new chapter in life.
