HAR HAR MAHADEV

Rudrabhishek Puja

Rudrabhishek Puja is a powerful Vedic ceremony offered to Lord Shiva in his Rudra form, the destroyer of negativity and protector of dharma. The Shiva Lingam is ceremonially bathed with water, milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugarcane juice while the sacred hymns of Sri Rudram, Namakam and Chamakam from the Yajurveda, are chanted.

Devotees perform it for good health, prosperity and inner peace, and to ease planetary doshas and the burden of past karma. It is considered especially fruitful on Mondays, in Shravan month, on Pradosh and on Maha Shivaratri, and can be done at a temple or comfortably at home with a qualified pandit.
